Roads in Costa Rica are generally well maintained. The roads are not distinguished by an abundance of signs, so it will not be easy for foreign drivers to navigate them without a map.

There are paid autobahns in the country, the cost of a single trip on which is about 1 USD. Toll roads are considered to be of the highest quality, but they are not without minor drawbacks.

The maximum permissible speed on local roads is 80 km / h, drivers should carefully monitor the road limiters installed on the roads.
