Costa Rica travel Insurance
Before you travel to Costa Ricca, you need to familiarize yourself with the options for compulsory insurance. There is Safe Travels Voyager travel insurance for US residents, and Safe Travels International and Safe Travels International Cost Saver plans for non-US residents. All of these plans meet Costa Rica’s travel insurance requirements.
Safe Travels Voyager and Safe Travels Explorer are for people leaving the US, and Safe Travels International and Safe Travels International Cost Saver are for people traveling from countries other than the US. All 3 plans are compliant with and recognized by the Costa Rican government.
Insurance can be obtained online. Once paid, a visa letter and proof of coverage will be sent to the email address provided on the travel insurance application. This documentation confirms that you have travel insurance. The letter will contain a summary of your coverage showing that the COVID coverage requirements have been met to enable you to travel to Costa Rica.
The next step after uploading your travel insurance letter to the Costa Rica Health Pass website, you will need to complete a travel authorization application. You will then receive a QR code from the Costa Rica Health Pass website. This code will be required to be presented to the airport authorities upon arrival in Costa Rica.
In addition, the Safe Travels program provides treatment for COVID-19 like any other disease.
It is worth noting that Costa Rica travel insurance must be purchased at least one day before the departure date. This is a must on the day of departure.

Coverage amount
In terms of medical coverage in the event of the COVID-19 pandemic virus while in Costa Rica, the Costa Rica Health Pass requires a minimum of US $ 50,000 to be insured.
